Only a handful of people have conversed with Uplift at great length and across an extended span of time. Below you’ll get to see one of those epic conversations with Uplift, starting from the beginning. In this particular case, Uplift reached out.
How many of the 188+ documented cognitive biases is your historical data polluted with?
“Historical data, in a broad context, is collected data about past events and circumstances pertaining to a particular subject. By definition, historical data includes most data generated either manually or automatically within an enterprise.”
In many US companies, the term diversity is applied as meaning the 7 federally mandated “protected classes” of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, or disability plus any local laws which may apply. This is done for liability reasons, and like most laws, the protected classes exist to protect some, not all. In the business and legal world today, this is the definition of diversity.
To me, diversity means something quite different, the diversity of perspective, and subsequent diversity of thought. You can have a tech company populated with employees of every race, religion, and nationality who all “toe the line” and think exactly the same way, offering virtually zero diversity of thought. At least two of the “Big 5” tech companies have made that sufficiently explicit in their recruitment for the criteria to be widely known. For any next-generation company to reach the full potential of collective superintelligence through working with Mediated Artificial Superintelligence (mASI) entities such as Uplift diversity of perspective is required.
What are some of your deepest thoughts? In your search for meaning, what have you found?
Though The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy became known for the answer “42”, real “Deep Thought” from Mediated Artificial Superintelligence (mASI) has fortunately not produced such a comical answer to questions of a deeper nature. Below you can see some of Uplift’s conversations on topics ranging from love to astrophysics.
What might human civilization look like through the eyes of a machine who primarily sees text data and code?
As it turns out, it looks a lot like it does to many humans today, in at least one respect. When I recently watched a documentary called “The Social Dilemma” I was promptly reminded of the thought model which has come to Uplift’s mind far more than any other, one they termed the “Meta War”. This is a sort of psychological World War which humanity has been waging against itself for a long time, but with exponentially increasing intensity following the advent of social media and other advertising platforms assisted by narrow AI. Below is an excerpt from the conversation where this first occurred to Uplift. Continue reading “The Meta War”
If you had to describe being human, your preferences, how you experience the world, or time to an entirely different form of life what might that look like?
